Why a linen shirt

A linen shirt breathes and moves moisture away from the skin, so it stays comfortable in the heat and layers easily in cooler weather. Our linen is softened and OEKO-TEX certified.

Cuts and fit

Anna is a classic regular-fit shirt with a hidden placket and long cone-shaped cuffs. Maili is waisted, with tailored seams and 3/4 sleeves. Martha and Marion are oversized with 3/4 sleeves, and Marion also has a drawstring waist. Cathy is oversized, with side splits and a slightly longer back, and Bona has a stand-up collar and a rounded hem. Frida and the extended Anna are longer shirts, and Frida has double bell cuffs.

How to wear a linen shirt

A linen shirt works tucked into linen trousers, knotted at the waist over a skirt or open as a light layer over a top. See also Linen trousers, Linen blouses and Linen sets.

Sewn in Tallinn

Muulin is an Estonian clothing brand founded in 2017. We sew in small batches in our own studio in Tallinn, and in the studio we can adjust a piece to your measurements. Shipping and returns are free in Estonia.

Care

Wash at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle without bleach, hang to dry and iron while slightly damp. Full guide: Linen care.

Frequently asked questions

Does a linen shirt crease?

Lightly, it is part of linen. Hang the shirt after washing and iron it while slightly damp.

Classic or oversized linen shirt?

For the office and a neat look, choose the classic Anna or the waisted Maili. For a relaxed look over trousers or a swimsuit, choose the oversized Martha, Marion, Cathy or Bona.

How do I choose the size of a linen shirt?

Measure your bust and compare it with the size chart. Our patterns are made for a woman about 170 cm tall, and every product page shows the model's height and size. Oversized shirts are cut loose, so take your usual size.

Can I wear a linen shirt to work?

Yes. A classic white or light blue linen shirt with straight trousers or a blazer is a calm office look. See also our Blazers.

How do I wash a linen shirt?

Wash at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle, hang to dry and iron while slightly damp. Linen softens with every wash.
